First Tuesday ~ Monthly

Licensed bar with special jazz night menu. The doors are open from 7.15pm for those that come early for a dinner jazz evening. Jazz starts at 8.15pm - Entrance £8 (at the door).

This is what to expect at the clubs.

You'll hear a rich mixture of jazz and swing with all the classics from the Ragtime, Dixieland and Swing periods.

From the early days numbers like Scott Joplin's 'The Entertainer' and the Temperance Seven hit 'Pasadena'. Music for example, from Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Fats Waller and Billie Holiday from the 30's.

From the early swing era it could be Duke Ellington's 'It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That Swing', and we always have requests for Glenn Miller favourites such as 'A String of Pearls' and 'Pennsylvania 6-5000' and from the big band era, for example 'Hot Toddy' and 'Eager Beaver'..

A hotpot of great music for an entertaining night out.

Concerts

We perform for charity jazz concert evenings (reduced price usually arranged).

Normally these are suitable for a group of 100 to 300 people and the programme can be varied.

For example, it could be a combined 'Duke Ellington' and 'Billie Holiday' concert, or an 'Ella Fitzgerald' tribute evening.

Recent concerts have been 'From Ragtime to Swingtime', which is an entertaining evening covering the history of jazz with the music from many jazz greats from the first half of the 20th century.
